Idea is simple, come and enjoy a coffee. Hear a poem from our special guest, discuss it and then write a poem. The session will be hosted by Louis Glazzard at SeeSaw Arts, Manchester. It will last around an hour and your ticket includes the price of a coffee of your choice.

Sleeve Notes is a collaborative performance response to coincide with this year’s Record Store Day. Ten writers have teamed up with ten musicians to offer their take on how records have shaped their lives and thinking, each pair creating a brand-new track combining spoken word and music.

12.3.2025 – Masterclass, Sheffield Hallam University
Writing and re-writing – from notebook to publication
Drawing on examples, Rosie Garland will talk about editing processes and how to make technical decisions. There’ll be practical tips on the pleasures and pitfalls of research, coping with false starts and setbacks, as well as ways to use advice and support from writing groups, editors, and agents. She’ll reflect on the importance of process rather than product, with suggestions for using freewriting and morning pages to spark ideas. And importantly, stressing the joys of creative play & a deeper understanding of the natural mess of the writing process.
