This Anti-Valentines Verbalise Special features acclaimed poet, novelist and singer Rosie Garland of The March Violets. Rosie won the Mslexia Novel Competition with The Palace of Curiosities; her other novels are Vixen, The Night Brother and The Fates. Nine Arches Press publishes her latest poetry collection, This Is How I Fight, and it was The Observer Poetry Book of the Month.
She has performed as her alter ego, Rosie Lugosi Vampire Poet, since the 1980s at cabaret and spoken word performances and is a prominent figure on the cabaret scene. Rosie was made a fellow of The Royal Society of Literature in 2023. We are excited about seeing Rosie read poetry from her new collection. Come and join in the open mic, bring your Anti-Valentine’s poems.
