Announcing the lineup for this year’s Re:Vamped Weekend of vampire-adjacent culture, taking place in Bradford.
On Saturday 24th May, frontwoman and founder member of The March Violets Rosie Garland will deliver the fifth World Dracula Day Lecture in the French Ballroom at the Midland Hotel from 12pm.
This year’s lecture will be given by a bonafide goth legend – the one & only Rosie Garland!
In her lecture ‘Radiant Girls: You can’t be Goth, queer and feminist!’ she’ll reflect on a pioneering lifetime in Goth/ic writing and performance – as co-founder of post-punk band The March Violets, mistress of mayhem Rosie Lugosi the Vampire Queen, and Rosie Garland – lyricist, novelist, poet & short story writer. A voyage into the dark & light side of post-punk and Goth culture of the 1980s and beyond, discovering how to forge identity and find a voice when an outsider amongst outsiders.
